FAQ’S
Ketamine therapy involves the controlled administration of ketamine—a medication supported by extensive clinical research—primarily for treatment-resistant medical and psychiatric conditions that have failed to respond to standard, conservative, or repeated interventions. By engaging multiple neural pathways, ketamine often produces rapid symptom relief and can sustain improvements over time.
Skye Counseling and Wellness administers ketamine via a structured series of carefully monitored intravenous infusions—a delivery approach proven to be highly effective. However, we are also able to administer treatment via oral, nasal, and intramuscular routes.
Ketamine therapy is often recommended for individuals who:
• Have not achieved relief from traditional treatments
• Have undergone multiple unsuccessful treatment attempts
• Wish to decrease their reliance on conventional medications
• Are seeking a more rapid therapeutic response
• Are unable to pursue certain treatments due to medical contraindications
Most patients notice substantial improvement within just one or two sessions, though the total number of treatments required will depend on everyone’s circumstances and symptom severity.
Ketamine therapy is safe when delivered by experienced medical professionals—such as our team at Skye Wellness. Conversely, at-home protocols without clinical oversight or treatments performed at centers lacking specialized expertise are generally neither safe nor recommended
During your session, you can choose to sit or recline in the comfort of your own home under continuous remote supervision by our healthcare team. The IV infusion typically lasts 40–60 minutes. You may experience mild, transient side effects—such as fatigue or nausea—but these generally subside quickly.
The duration of ketamine’s therapeutic effects varies by individual and diagnosis. Some patients enjoy relief for weeks or months following their initial infusion series, while others report benefits lasting years or even producing enduring changes. Periodic booster sessions may be recommended to sustain long-term improvements.
Patients may experience mild dissociation, dizziness, nausea, and fatigue, though these side effects are typically transient and resolve soon after the infusion concludes.
Please follow all preparatory instructions from our healthcare team—such as fasting if directed—and arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home afterward, as is standard following any procedure involving anesthesia.
Ketamine therapy can be combined with adjunctive treatments—such as psychotherapy or pharmacotherapy—and your Skye Counseling and Wellness provider will collaborate with you to create a customized plan that addresses your individual needs.
The required number of infusions depends on each individual and their specific condition. Most patients begin with an initial course of six to ten infusions, then transition to maintenance sessions as needed—typically averaging one to two infusions per year.
If conventional treatments haven’t brought you relief, ketamine therapy could be the answer. We invite you to arrange a consultation with one of our expert physicians to explore your individual needs. Your history is singular, your symptoms are personal, and your treatment should be uniquely tailored—for you.
